I’m a neuro-lover, content creator, physical therapy faculty and educator, podcast-hosting, resource-sharing, Jesus-loving, small business owner with a huge heart for helping others reach their goals of becoming a neurologic clinical specialist.
I provide mentorship through my courses, workshops, and online resources, helping professionals through the process of mastering neuro concepts and preparing for the Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) exam, offering connection and friendly guidance along the way.
Yes - it was a lovely afternoon and my dad had recommended me a movie called "Gifted Hands". After that movie, I realized that Neurology was something I was and have always been strangely attracted to. Then I had a crisis. "I don't know anything about the brain...."
I purchased several books about the brain, and my journey started. I was deeply intrigued by how the brain functioned. I would check out DVDs from the library that were on brain science. My calling was...calling me.
Then one of my friends from church had a stroke in his 20s. That day I told God I was going to become a neurologic physical therapist to help people like him. He survived and he is thriving.
Everything then started to unfold...& the rest is history! See below for a timeline of the events!
to help you not only master the complexities of neurologic therapy but also develop a mindset focused on success, unlocking your full potential for both clinical excellence and personal growth.
Learning neuro should not be like living in the grey area—where nothing is ever black and white—I believe learning neuro should be technicolor: rich, dynamic, and full of clarity and excitement.
learn more about neuro and enjoy it during the process. There are so many resources out there, but it can get really complex and overwhelming. I am here to make it unforgettable, enjoyable, and vibrant.
This is when I started PT school and 'til the year I became a Licensed PT. I didn't have a job lined up. Finally ended up working at the University Medical Center as my first job.
2015-2018
My journey to Neuro PT was filled with challenges. I was rejected to 2 neuro residencies, and then accepted to other 2. I finally made my decision to move to Northern California to start at Kaiser Permanente. I was there from August 2019-August 2020. Yup, I did my residency in the middle of pandemic!
mid 2019
When I moved back to El Paso, TX (my hometown) I was so overwhelmed by the LACK of neuro in my life (since in residency I was breathing, doing, thinking, treating neuro all the time, lol). At my job in El Paso, TX I had a general caseload, with any patient diagnosis. So- to fill the gap, I decided to start a social media page about neuro. I started to design my logo, and to start posting. It all started with ONE follower. One person who listened. One person who saw my posts.
2020
I currently teach neuro topics through The Brain PT and I also teach the Neuro Rehab Curriculum at the University of Texas at El Paso. I plan to launch a podcast in 2025 to keep reaching more people around the world who share the NEURO passion!
